Scubapro MK25/S600 Regulator Review

Scubapro Mk25-s600 ReviewThe Scubapro MK25/S600 is  considered to be one of the best regulators on the market today

The Mk25 is Scubapro’s top performing balanced first stage, when paired with their best selling, high performing, balance second stage; it is the ultimate Scubapro regulator  combination.

Because of its adjustment possibilities, the s600 is the perfect match for the MK25, this makes the regulator adapt to any diving condition and diver preferences. Ease of breathing is the essence of this system.

In addition, precision molded, lightweight components, and anti-freeze materials provide high corrosion resistance and enhance cold water performance.

MK25 First Stage

The MK25 First Stage uses an air balanced-flow through piston which delivers  more air to the second stage than any other first stage.

The  balance piston allows for lighter and  more sensitive components resulting in ultra fast breathing response, instant delivery of air on demand, and extra high air flow, especially in low tank pressure ranges.

The tired diver benefits from a smoother breathing regulator during the ascent or deco stop.

Balanced piston first stages are the first choice of demanding sport divers and professionals. A balanced piston performs equally in full or empty tanks,  warm and cold water environments.

The MK25 also has two opposite high pressure ports which is crucial to diving comfort.  The two high pressure ports are position on opposite sites of the fist stage. This allows the diver to position the gauges either on the right or left side and increases the freedom of movement for head and neck.

It also has 5 (high Flow) low pressure ports on a Swiveling turret, which allows for 360 degrees swivel hoses.  This feature help reduce jaw fatigue by reducing the tension the low pressure hoses.

The first Stage also come equipped with an externally adjustable intermediate pressure which allows technicians to quickly fine tune  it without the need to disassemble the first stage.

As a specific anti-freezing measure, SCUBAPRO engineers have designed a patented finned cap for both the MK25 first stages for optimal cold water diving.

The ribs act as a radiator to increase the surface area of heat transfer from the water to warm up the internal parts that have been drastically cooled down by the gas pressure drop.

S600 Second Stage

The s600 second stage comes with Air-balanced valve technology. The air-balanced valve technology of SCUBAPRO’s second stages features a balancing chamber in the second stage mechanism, slightly offsetting the force of the downstream air entering from the first stage. This allows reduced spring tension and decreases the inhalation resistance to the lowest possible level. The result is super smooth breathing in all conditions.

Diver adjustable inhalation effort. This feature enables the diver to adjust breathing effort via an over-sized control knob. All other second stages feature a pre-set inhalation effort that suits the most common diving conditions and can be fine tuned at an Authorized SCUBAPRO Dealer on request.

Venturi Initiated Vacuum Assist (VIVA). Another SCUBAPRO patented feature, the VIVA is available on all SCUBAPRO second stages. VIVA uses the power of a vacuum assist to reduce work of breathing and increase breathing comfort. A VIVA in MAX position gives powerful breathing support on every single breath; a VIVA in MIN position helps to prevent free flow on the surface, for training, for buddy breathing, in currents, or when used as an octopus.

The s600 uses a comfortable orthodontic mouthpiece  jaw fatigue and gum irritation. It was developed by dentists and dental laboratories and lasts longer than any other mouthpiece, because only a minimum effort is needed to hold it comfortably in place.

What Other Divers Are Saying About the Scubapro MK25/s600

reviews taken from real certified buyers at Leisurepro.com

“I have the same regulator with over 200 dives and now my wife has one because of the great experience I’ve had with mine. I’ve used it in the waters off Alaska to the Caymans and down to 150ft and it’s just a solid, smooth regulator with a very comfortable mouthpiece.”

“Dove this reg below 180 many times, rightside up, inverted and upsidedown it doesn’t matter this is my go to reg. A must have even for the most novice diver!”

“I’ve done about 20 dives on this reg. It works great. For what Lesiure Pro charges its a great deal, for what the shops charge – its probably an average highend regulator. Wether I’m upside down, sideways, low on air, or deep, (I’ve had it to 135 fsw) it breaths effortlessly.”

“This is an awsome regulator. I personally like to tighten up the breathing because it lengthens my bottom time. THis can breathe real tight or simply flow – however you like it, you can set it. I would not trade it for anything else, my life depends on it so I got the best! I used it and I loved it.”
